Valmorel is a great place for activity both in winter and summer. Valmorel is an ideal family ski resort, with plenty of gentle runs for kids and adults alike when they are learning, through to demanding reds and blacks for the more experienced skier. With 83 pistes and 56 lifts the "Grand Domaine" stretches from a summit of 2,700m in altitude to the heart of the resort and the surrounding villages of the Morel valley, and across to the resort of St-Francois-Longchamp. There is a snow park including a half-pipe and a boarder cross, 2 beginner stadiums for adults and children, and associated winter activities such as paragliding, snowshoe walking, cross- county skiing, and even sleigh rides. In the summer, the resort transforms into a hive of various activities, from challenging mountain-biking runs to gentle walking. You can go with Mountain Guides to spot early morning wildlife, quad biking through the forests of the area, or for adrenalin junkies canyoning down some of the beautiful fast-running mountain streams and waterfalls in the area. Tennis is available for all ages, with group or private lessons. For the kids, there are activities such as fencing and dancing, and many more A human sized charming resort for pedestrians, nestling on the edge of the forest, next to the Cheval noir peak, Valmorel is a village that melts in to the landscape. The wooden, stone and lauze roofed chalets spreading around the ski lift departure points and the attractive pedestrian street, the throbbing heart of Valmorel where you will feel welcome everyday, give Valmorel its unrivalled character of a Savoyard village. |
